About me:
My name is Karlee and I run Top Notch Lops Rabbitry along with the help and support of my husband and our two daughters. We are a small rabbitry raising nationally competitive holland lops located in Big Lake, Minnesota. We are proud members of the ARBA, (American Rabbit Breeders Association) the HLRSC, (Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club) and the MSRBA (Minnesota State Rabbit Breeders Association.)
I have had rabbits my entire life, and absolutely love the joy they bring me every day. Growing up I was very active in 4H and had a few different breeds including Holland Lops, Mini Lops, Dutch, & Rex rabbits. However, Holland Lops have always been a favorite and held a special place in my heart and they are the only breed I raise today. Fast forward quite a bit later and I found myself with just as big of animal loving kids as myself also wanting to get into 4H and show themselves. That's when I got into breeding and once we had our first litter of babies we were hooked. Over the years my amazing husband has allowed me to dedicate more and more room and time to the bunnies and now it has become our passion and great hobby as a family.
All of our rabbits are purebred and pedigreed, and I strongly believe that good type & good temperament are equally important. The foundation of my herd started with some of the best genetics from breeders all across the country and through carefully selective breeding I have worked very hard to create my own line who I think represents the breed very well and I am always aiming to achieve that "perfect rabbit" that is as close to the breed standard as possible. In my show lines I mainly work with torts, brokens, otter, self, and occasionally tri colors. I do also have a separate line of vienna marked rabbits for that fun and unique splash of color. These were a lot more of a challenge in terms of quality starting out, but I am always trying to improve on this as well and get these as close to the breed standard as possible just like with my show rabbits.
All of our rabbits are our pets and treated as such. They are all raised indoors and are very well loved and spoiled. Every bunny baby is handled since birth and gets lots of attention every day as well as becoming very well socialized around children, dogs, cats, and many other household noises to ensure a great transition if and when they are ready to find a new home.
